Our Church is fun!
Yes, Christians do enjoy themselves and our congregation is no exception. We pride ourselves on our fellowship to our fellow Church members and all who come to worship with us. We hope our friendly welcome to visitors will motivate you to come back again.
So, how do we enjoy ourselves?
We have held an Easter egg hunt in the Church for the children. Many of the ladies make and wear to Church their own Easter bonnet – a colourful spectacle.
In recent years we have held ‘flower festivals’ in the Church: these have been a great success and have been well supported.
Visits & retreat weekends to the likes of Iona & Lindisfarne are becoming a regular feature in our diary.
Each autumn, usually about the end of October we hold a Harvest Supper in Quothquan village hall. The meal is arranged by professional caterers but the cost is kept affordable and as children are very welcome there is a price concession for them. Most of us take along a bottle of wine to share.
About mid December again in the village hall the young mothers in the Congregation arrange a Christmas lunch for all pensioners in the parish. The cost is kept as affordable as possible and again a glass or two of festive cheer is enjoyed. A Christmas party is arranged for the Sunday school children each year. At our Christmas service the kids put on a Nativity play in costume – there is usually much merriment and laughter.
In recent years we have organised carol singing & ceilidh events which have been greatly enjoyed by our wider community.
Come along to our Church and put in your suggestion for a fun event!
